About course

This course is dedicated to setting up a polishing process using the 5D Surfacing operation in ENCY. It is best suited for users who already have some basic experience with the software and want to deepen their knowledge.

In this video, you will learn how to configure a polishing tool, define the machining surface, optimize the tool orientation, and apply advanced parameters — such as spiral weaving — to generate an effective toolpath. The course does not involve creating a project from scratch but focuses on fine-tuning to achieve a high-quality result.

This tutorial is part of a hands-on video series designed to help you confidently use ENCY for complex machining tasks and refine the techniques you’ve already learned.

    • Hi there. As you’ve noted, polishing and welding aren’t related in terms of final process, but the functional toolpath requirements are the same, in terms of actual movements.

The functionality may be edited in future to allow for a split in the naming convention to keep polishing and welding totally separate and to avoid confusion, but for the moment, we’ve used the same names to cover those particular toolpath types.
